member directory
A member directory is a list of an association's member companies with contact details. NPSA has an online directory and a printed one. Customers and members use it to find portable storage providers and suppliers. It may also list services, locations and products.
Why it matters
NPSA lists a hard copy directory as a member benefit, and says it goes to more than 700 members. That figure comes from NPSA and we could not confirm it independently. Members also get a website listing with the chance to receive leads. An online provider search is on NPSA's member platform. Directory advertising is also sold. A common mistake is to think a listing is a recommendation. A directory shows who belongs, not who is best. Customers should still compare quotes, insurance and terms. Members should keep their listing details current, since customers use the listing to call and request quotes.

community forum
The NPSA Community Forum is a members-only online discussion board where portable storage companies ask questions and share information with peers. NPSA says it brings business and industry conversations into one organized place, so members can work together and learn from each other.

Portable storage is storage in a container, trailer or similar unit that can be moved to the customer's site or elsewhere. NPSA describes portable storage containers as ISO shipping containers retired from international shipping and offered for rent and purchase on the domestic market. NPSA also includes trailers and mobile offices in the industry.
