Every kind of portable storage NPSA members offer

Storage containers

A portable storage container is a steel box delivered to your site so you can store goods on your own schedule. NPSA member companies rent and sell them in lengths from 5 ft to 53 ft. Use one for a move, a remodel, a job site, or extra business storage.

Mobile offices

A mobile office is a finished workspace built in a container, a storage trailer, or a modular building and delivered to your site. It arrives insulated, wired, and ready to use. Choose one for a job site, a sales office, a special event, or a permanent headquarters.

Storage trailers

A storage trailer is a steel and aluminum trailer used as extra warehouse space. It has dock-height access and roll-up or swing doors, and it moves by road. NPSA members lease or sell them in sizes from 28 ft to 53 ft for peak seasons and overflow stock.

Mobile self-storage

Mobile self-storage means a storage unit comes to you empty. You load it at your own pace. The provider picks it up and moves it to a new place, to storage, or to your next home. These units can travel fully loaded. NPSA members offer lengths from 7 ft to 20 ft.

Refrigerated units

A refrigerated unit, or reefer, is an insulated container or trailer with its own cooling system. It holds a set temperature day and night. Use one for event food, restaurant overflow, or other temperature-sensitive goods. Check the power at your site before delivery.

Local move

A local moving container is delivered to your home, you fill it at your own pace, and the provider moves it to your new address or to its storage center. Use one when closing dates do not line up, or when you want to avoid a rental truck.

Long distance move

A long distance moving container is loaded at your home, taken to the provider's warehouse, shipped by a third-party carrier, and delivered to your new address. You skip driving a truck. You can hire local help at either end. Use one for interstate moves and gaps between closings.

On-site storage

On-site portable storage means a container sits on your property while you remodel, move, or build. You can reach your things 24/7 and lock the container. You skip rental trucks and trips to a storage facility. Contractors also use them to keep materials near the work.

Storage centers

A portable storage center is a secure facility where a provider keeps your loaded container. The container is delivered to you, you fill it, and the provider takes it back to store. Later it is delivered where you choose. Most companies let you reach it while it is there.

Light industrial

Questions

What is the difference between portable storage and a storage unit?

A portable storage unit is delivered to you. You load it at home or on site, then keep it there or have the company move it to its storage center or your new home. A traditional storage unit is a fixed room at a facility you drive to.

Who will I be renting from?

From an NPSA member company. NPSA is the trade association for the portable storage industry and does not rent units itself. When you request a quote, a member that serves your area contacts you with sizes, dates and prices.

Can I buy a container instead of renting?

Yes. Many NPSA members sell new and used containers as well as renting them. If you need storage for a long time or want to modify the unit, buying can make sense. Read the rent or buy guide, then say "I want to buy" in your quote request.
