code of conduct
A code of conduct is a set of rules for how people must behave at an event or in a group. The NPSA Code of Conduct for Organized Events says NPSA events should be respectful and free of harassment for all people.
Why it matters
NPSA requires speakers, staff, attendees and volunteers at its events to follow the code. It bans discrimination, harassment, unwelcome sexual attention, stalking and abuse. It asks people to get permission from speakers before recording or taking photos of their talks. It tells attendees to report problems to the nearest NPSA representative and to call 911 in an emergency. NPSA says it may ask violators to stop, remove them without refund, or bar them from future events. A common mistake is to think it only covers the meeting rooms. It covers organized events. NPSA
NPSA is the National Portable Storage Association, a trade association for the portable storage industry. It serves companies that work with portable containers, trailers, mobile offices and portable or mobile storage units, and the businesses that supply them. It is a membership group, not a company that rents or sells storage to the public.
call for speakers
A call for speakers is an open request for people to propose talks for an event. NPSA runs a Call for Speakers Program as the first step for anyone who wants to present at a future NPSA conference, or who wants to suggest a speaker.
