job-site trailer

A job-site trailer is a trailer used as an office or storage space on a construction or work site. People also call it a construction trailer or a site trailer. A contractor rents or buys it, a truck delivers it, and it is removed when the project ends.

Why it matters

WillScot, a large mobile office provider, uses the phrase "jobsite trailer" for its mobile office units used by contractors and builders. The same word can mean a storage trailer or a container. Always ask which one a company means. Job-site trailers may come furnished and wired, and some have restrooms. A common mistake is to treat the trailer as ready to run on delivery day. It may need power, a level surface, steps and an inspection or permit. Plan the location early, since the trailer is hard to move after setup.
