Modifications
roll-up door
A roll-up door is a garage-style overhead door fitted in a container. It rolls up above the opening. It gives wide access for loading, drive-in use or a service window, and replaces or adds to the standard swing doors. It is a common add-on for access.
Why it matters
A roll-up door makes a container easier to use for daily access. Mobile retail, contractors and storage sites like it because it opens fast and does not swing into traffic. Operators add it as a modification. A cut in the wall needs reinforcement, or the frame can flex and the door can go out of square. Another mistake is to forget that a cut-in door may change how the box handles stacking and lifting. Ask whether the builder has reinforced the frame and sealed the edges. Customers should check the size, lock type and whether the original cargo doors still work. Allow time for custom fitting.
