# ground level office

A ground-level office is a mobile office that sits directly on the ground, usually a converted storage container, so that visitors can enter from the grade with no tall steps. It is quick to place on a job site or lot and does not need a raised foundation.

## Why it matters

NPSA says a mobile office container is perhaps the simplest and quickest option because it can be placed directly on the ground. Trailers and modular buildings give more size choices and finish options. Ground-level units suit job sites, sales lots and short-term needs. A common mistake is to assume the unit meets accessibility rules without checking. Ramps, door widths and floor levels vary by unit, and the Americans with Disabilities Act or local codes may apply to some uses. Also confirm that the pad is level and firm, and ask the provider about power, heating and cooling before delivery.
