Container basics

# double door container

A double door container has doors at both ends, so you can load or unload from either side. Standard containers have doors at one end. The term is also used loosely, since each door end has two door leaves. Ask what a seller means.

## Why it matters

Doors at both ends help with drive-through loading, long items and faster access. They are useful on job sites where one end may be blocked, or for stock that needs to be reached from two sides. Sea Box lists a 20-foot dry freight container with double doors on both ends next to its one-end version, so buyers can pick either. A common mistake is to think double doors means a bigger opening. It means a second door end. Check weight rating, lock type and the delivery site before you order.
